Help and user guide

Everything you need to use your Vitrelume robot well. Please also read the printed manual in the box: it shows exactly where each button is.

The golden rule: always tie the safety rope to a fixed point indoors before placing the robot on a window, even on the ground floor.

1. Before first use

  1. Check the box contents: robot, power adapter and cable, extension cable, remote control, safety rope, microfibre pads, mounting rings, spray bottle and manual.
  2. Fit a clean microfibre pad on each ring, then clip the rings under the robot.
  3. Fill the tank with clean water.

2. Setting up

  1. Attach the safety rope to the robot, then to a solid fixed point inside the room (a heavy piece of furniture, a fixed handle…).
  2. Plug in the adapter and, if needed, the extension cable. The robot stays plugged in for the whole clean.
  3. Switch the robot on: suction starts.

3. Starting a clean

  1. Place the robot flat on the glass and hold it for a second while suction takes hold.
  2. Start automatic cleaning with the button on the robot or the remote. It sprays water, covers the pane and senses the edges.
  3. You can steer it to a specific spot with the remote.

4. When it's done

  1. Wait for the robot to stop.
  2. Hold it firmly with one hand before switching off the suction, then lift it off the glass.
  3. Unplug it, remove the pads and empty the tank.

5. Care

  • Wash the microfibre pads at 40 °C max, without fabric softener, and let them air-dry.
  • Wipe the underside of the robot with a damp cloth while it's unplugged.
  • Store it somewhere dry with its rope and accessories.

Tips for better results

  • On very dirty glass, do a first pass, then change the pads before a second pass.
  • Avoid direct sunlight: water dries too fast and can leave marks.
  • Corners are the hardest area for any robot: they may need a quick wipe.
  • Don't use it in the rain or on frozen, cracked, frosted or frameless glass.

Troubleshooting

The robot won't stick to the glass

Check the pads are fitted flat, the surface is smooth and nothing sticks out (seal, sticker). Plug it back in and try again.

The robot stops and beeps

This is usually a power cut: the backup battery keeps it on the glass for about 20 minutes. Hold the robot, check the plug and extension cable, then restart.

The remote doesn't respond

Check its batteries and point it at the robot from close by.

Recycling and take-back

This robot is electrical and electronic equipment: don't throw it away with household waste (crossed-out bin symbol). Take it, with its accessories, to a collection point or recycling centre. It contains a backup battery: don't dispose of it separately.

When you buy a new robot, you can ask us to take back an equivalent old appliance free of charge: email us and we'll explain how.
